The Salty Cottage is located within walking distance of the Sea Pines Center which is home to a fitness center (daily, weekly and monthly access at additional cost), several coffee shops and gelato, boutique shops, post office, ABC/liquor store, Spa, Pizza, and Truffles Café (Lunch and Dinner restaurant). All three trolley lines can be accessed from the Sea Pines Center, as well as, jump on one of the many bikes trails next to the house to take you wherever you want to go in Sea Pines. Feel free to use our 4 bikes, one with an attached bike cart, 4 beach chairs and a cooler, for your convenience and savings. Bike to the lighthouse at Harbour Town, The Sea Pines Beach Club, or the Salty Dog Cafe at South Beach.
Enjoy the open floor plan from the kitchen to the living area, great for entertaining and maximizing your vacation time with friends and family, while taking in great views of the pool anywhere in these living areas. And Moms - the kitchen features a great breakfast bar for the kids, as well as chef grade cooking gear, cutlery, and stainless steel appliances. Quartz countertops, large basin sink, and plentiful cookware! The living room features a HDTV smart TV and DVD player, both are awesome for watching movies with the family. When it's time to say goodnight retreat to your own large private bedroom, 2 with private baths, and all on main level of the home!
The master bedroom features a king size bed and private bath. The master bathroom has double bowl vanity, tiled walk-in shower with body sprays and rainforest shower head. The 2nd bedroom, is perfectly equipped with Leesa Queen mattress, luxurious bedding and bathroom access from the room. The "Nautical Nook" (3rd bedroom) features a kids oasis with double twin bunk beds and another single twin bed, TV with Netflix and bean bags! The fourth bedroom "Carolina room" has a queen bed, is on separate end of the home, providing privacy and features views of the pool and deck area, with private tiled shower.
The entire "SALTY COTTAGE" provides a luxurious beach cottage feel, features Restoration Hardware "Cloud" Sectional, spacious Restoration Hardware dining table and chairs (Seats 8 plus seating at kitchen bars), features free high speed secured wireless internet service throughout. Come and experience Cozy, comfort, and convenience. All at the best location in Sea Pines!
Our luxurious newly installed heated (at an additional fee) pool features 3 feet and 5 feet depths. Half of the pool is in direct sunlight and half is shaded for whichever you're looking for. There are chaise lounges, outdoor dining table (seats 4), rafts, and pool toys available for our guests to use. The pool has LED lights to provide a colored "glow" for evening swims--my kids love to see all the colors the pool can change! For adults, we have a beautiful swim up bar with four stools in the water, along with an outdoor kitchen with propane grill, refrigerator, sink, blender and flat screen TV. I usually have to drag my husband inside--he never wants to leave his bar stool, drinking a beverage and watching a game! Pool heat needs to be ordered at least a week in advance and it is $400/week.

Sea Pines is a golfer or tennis enthusiast's paradise. You're only minutes away from Heron Point, the Ocean Course and the world famous Harbour Town Golf Links, home of The Heritage Classic.

What arrangements are made to pick up a key? Our home is equipped with a keybox entry system that is programmed with a code. We will provide the secure access code after reservation is confirmed. We do require our guests to sign additional documentation via DOTLOOP after reservation is confirmed. Our reservation process is very easy and convenient for our guests as they can arrive directly to the property!
What is check in and check out time? Check in is strictly 4pm or later. Check out is 10 am sharp!
What if there is an issue while we are staying at your house? All issues are quickly addressed with minimal disruption to your vacation. You will notify the owners directly.
Where can we rent bikes and how much does it cost? As mentioned above, feel free to use our bikes or use one of the many bike rental companies on the plantation. I'll be glad to provide you with recommended companies should you decide to not use our bikes, or should you need more. And our home is conveniently located right on one of the many bike paths that take you all over the plantation.
How close are you to the beach? around 5-7 minutes by bike, or an enjoyable 8-10 minute stroll.
Are you close to Harbour Town and South Beach? Yes, and we bike to both. Our home is just about equal distance to both; it's about a 10 minute bike ride, or 5 minutes by car.
What size is your house? Our single level home is approx 2200 square feet.
Do you offer discounts? If your arrival date is less than 30 days away and our home is available, we will certainly work with you.
Does the Pool heat included? No, the pool heat is an additional $400/week. This needs to be indicated at least a week ahead of your arrival so we can arrange the pool heat.
Do we add cleaning fees to your listed prices? Yes, the cleaning fee is listed as a separate line item.. The only other fees are South Carolina Accommodation and City of Hilton Head Island taxes totaling 10%, and the optional fee to heat the pool.

Pets if approved are $175 per pet. Unfortunately, one of our owners is highly allergic to cats so we will not be able to accommodate any cats at this home.
If you'd like pool heat, there is a fee of $400/week.
Sea Pines does require each car to purchase a pass at the Sea Pines Entry gate. Currently the rate is $22/per car
House Rules

The following is a list of Rules that MUST be adhered to by everyone in your party. By booking our home, you acknowledge your responsibility for ensuring that everyone staying in and visiting the home you have rented in Sea Pines Plantation will abide by the following rules….
Rental occupancy shall be limited 11-12 persons (Salty Cottage) for overnight stay. This includes all guests regardless of age.
The primary Tenant must be at least 25 years of age.
Walking on street with alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
Lighting fireworks is prohibited.
Open fires are prohibited.
Parking at this residence is limited to 5 cars.
No smoking in the home of any kind.
Pets are permitted with additional nonrefundable pet fee ($175), per pet is required
Parking on the roadside is prohibited. All cars must be parked in area directly in front of The Salty Cottage. Parking on any private property you have not rented is prohibited.
No truck, bus or other vehicle with a capacity larger than three-quarter ton shall be parked overnight on any lot in such a manner as to be visible to the occupants of other lots or the users of any common area. No mobile home, travel trailer or camper shall be parked on any lot overnight.
Loud and boisterous activity will not be tolerated. Please keep in mind that year-round residents live in the immediate vicinity of your rental home. Please be considerate of your neighbors. Loud, disorderly conduct, particularly in public areas (front porch, driveway, and back porch) is not permitted. Any calls from neighbors and/or Sea Pines police department will be taken seriously. We will be visiting the property regularly and reserve every right to ask your group to leave, if we feel your behavior is considered unacceptable and disrespectful to the neighbors and/or to our property. If the Police Department is dispatched for disorderly conduct or noise to our home, we reserve the right to withhold full deposit.
No person shall permit any animal to run at large on common areas or property owned by other members. An animal is running at large if it is not within its caretaker’s immediate supervision and control.
No person shall hunt or trap wild animals or fowl within Sea Pines Plantation.
All trash needs to be removed from The Salty Cottage and placed in the trash canister. Trash company will remove the trash from the canister. Any trash left in the property.
Trespassing on any private property, whether it is adjoining your rental property or not, is prohibited.
Hanging or drying of clothing, towels, or linens, etc. outside where visible to other homes or roads is prohibited.
Littering is prohibited.
Feeding or harassment of wildlife is not permitted.
Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit, and or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check-in or will be asked to leave the premise immediately (Website hidden by Airbnb) No refunds will be given due to weather.
There is a pool at The Salty Cottage. The pool is intended to work properly but is not guaranteed. If there are any malfunctions, contact the owners immediately. The owners’ will contact a repairman in a timely manner. There is an additional charge to add heat to the pool.
DO NOT use the fireplace in the living room. It is for decoration only.
By reserving our home, you are agreeing to all terms and conditions of this rental addendum.
Pet Fee is $175 per pet
MECHANICAL FAILURES: Moccasin Investments LLC does not guarantee against mechanical failure of electrical service, stopped plumbing, water supply, heating, hot tub/pool, audio visual equipment, internet access, television or appliances. Please report any inoperative equipment immediately. Moccasin Investments LLC will make every effort to have repairs done quickly and completely. No refunds or rent reductions will be made due to failure of these items.
Cancellation Policy
If cancelled greater than 60 days prior to arrival, we allow full refund. If cancelled between 30-60 days of arrival, we will refund 50% of rental amount plus security deposit. If cancelled less than 30 days, 0% of rental amount will be returned. We strongly recommend purchasing trip insurance to cover any unexpected cancellations.
