The home was very comfortable, clean, and has an easy parking setup with a good little courtyard for us to take our dog out each morning and hang with the deer. Todd and Andy's two-bedroom apartment in Joseph was a peaceful retreat for our winter adventures centered around watching the Eagle Cap Extreme dogsled races at Ferguson Ridge Ski Area. Joseph getaway
Our stay at Eagle Cap 22 was nice, clean & comfortable. It’s situated south of town, an easy 1/2 mile walk north gets you to Main St with all the shops and eateries. Hiking trails are within walking distance to the south and a short car ride or easy bike ride south gets you to Wallowa Lake Park. We had everything we needed here and it was very peaceful and quiet. The deer family that showed up each day added to the peacefulness. I recommend this property and we will stay again when we return.

The check-in process and communication with the owners was flawless. We had one minor issue (that we caused) and the owners helped us through it without making us feel like we were bothering them. It’s right next to the highway, which isn’t great. But since we didn’t spend much time in the room, it wasn’t that bad either. Actually pretty quiet most of the night. This apartment was very conveniently located so we found great things to do all within a short drive. We walked to downtown Joseph which was a 15 minute stroll. We were mostly there for hiking and fly fishing which was awesome. The apartment was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Everything was in working order. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were VERY comfortable. The folding lawn chairs in the closet were comfy as well. I would LOVE to know the brand of the chairs and where they were purchased. Great little condo for a short weekend. Enough coffee to make it through your first morning and they even provide little oatmeal packets and tea to get you started. It seems as if the downstairs of the building is a residence and only the top apartments are part of the Airbnb. The views were not great, as we looked into someone's personal back yard, but did get an ok view of the mountains to the west. BUT, it is super close to the north end of the lake where you can get your fill of the views and more! (I mean are you really cooped up in a condo while in the county?) It is within walking distance to town and the lake, but you may want to drive if you aren't up for walking a 1/4 to 1/2 mile to town or the lake. Super clean place, with stylish updates and all of the basics. Might be a little cramped if there were more than 3 but perfect for an anniversary get away! Comfy beds for a good nights sleep too!

Very convenient location between the lake and “downtown” Joseph, right off the main highway. Kitchen was well equipped for all basic cooking. Would stay again.

We really enjoyed staying at Andy’s condo in Joseph. It was very clean, neat, with a nice kitchen setup for short-term stay. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was nice and spacious for 4 adults. The location is also very convenient to both the downtown of Joseph and the lake. Andy communicated with us promptly and clearly, with good check in/out instructions, and was very accommodating of the one request we had for him. We will definitely be staying here next time we return to Joseph.

Very clean Response: We really wish you had contacted us about the temperature of the bedrooms. When we arrived to clean we found the heat turned up to high in both bedrooms. It was very hot especially in 90 degree weather. Had you contacted us, we would have been able to help you turn the heat down and the AC up.

The location of this place is great, right on the bike path to the lake and still within walking distance of the downtown Joseph shops! The place is a bit cozy but you spend so much time out and about in the wonderful area that you don't need a huge space. Many thoughtful touches were added though including board games, extra blankets, air filter, and even a cake pan!

420 friendly? I booked this little condo for a 4 night stay with my mom, husband, and 3 month old daughter. We checked in the evening of the first night and check in was easy and the place looked clean although there was a slightly different smell and the air was on high. Everything seemed ok though so we headed out for dinner. When we came back we got ready for bed and immediately noticed a very strong pot smell. We tried opening the windows and that made it much worse. The smell seemed to be coming from the unit below us. We closed the windows, but the smell persisted. All night the air was saturated with pot and was the worst in the bedrooms themselves. I ended up having to sleep on the couch with my daughter next to me and still I got no sleep and felt sick all night due to the smell. First thing in the morning we immediately got dressed and had to leave the condo due to the smell. We messaged the owner and told him we could not stay there and he gave us a full refund as much as he could. We then went back to get our stuff and upon entering the building the pot smell was so bad it burned our eyes in the hallway. In the short time it took me to pack our stuff I was feeling sick from the smell again. Now, once we got out yes we didn’t have to pay for the other 3 nights, but we were in a small town in peak tourist season with no where to stay. Finally at the last minute we found a room at a local hotel and they were more than accommodating. When we told the manager what happened at the condo she immediately knew the owner and she told us we were not the first to have problems with his properties. Apparently her hotel regularly had guests that were looking for a place to stay after having to leave one of his Airbnb’s early. To the owners credit we did get a refund and beyond the smell the condo was clean, comfortable, and easy to get in and out. If you are 420 friendly then perhaps this condo will work for you, otherwise I would not recommend. (A side note, the owner did try to tell us the smell was from a skunk, however being from the country in southern Oregon I know the difference between pot and skunk and the smell was definitely pot) Response: The morning following the first night, this guest, said there was an overwhelming smell of pot smoke in the unit and requested a full refund of the 4 nights stay including the night she already stayed. Without asking any questions, we provided a full refund even though we would not likely be able to rent the unit out for those nights. The guest never reached out prior to demanding a full refund. We would have gladly done our best to solve her problems when they occurred, if given the chance. When we investigated the situation the next morning, two long term tenants in the same building and a neighbor reported to us that there indeed had been a skunk outside the 4-plex the previous night. This does happen occasionally when you stay in a rural area. We believed the tenants; especially since no other guests have complained of pot smoke in this unit, which you will see if you read the other reviews.

Andy was very hospitable and went above and beyond rectifying any issues we had. The home is simple with easy access to downtown Joseph and Lake Wallowa. Not very much furniture if you plan on relaxing inside but if you are an explorer and just need an indoor spot to sleep this is your place. It is on the second story so for those with limited mobility you’ll want to take this into consideration. Overall, we were pleased with Andy and his communication- we would definitely recommend doing business with him!

Recently updated, clean and tidy. Good location, less than a mile to the middle of town or to the lake's north end beach. Portable AC kept the main area cool; the rooms could get a little warm but they have operable windows. A little bit of smell from the neighbor's... aromatics, but overall a nice place to stay.

Joseph, OR is such a beautiful place and being able to stay at this location was a great blessing!
