Our dock is second one down from the house with the welcome mat. Please raise the dock ladder before you leave the dock for the day.

We love the #lakelife around here as well as the majestic mountains. This home is convenient to many things yet surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. So much to do and see right in town. Downtown Hayesville is simply charming with walkability to several shops and dining establishments. Hiawassee, Ga. is around the corner. We have a handy Welcome guidebook in the house full of dining options, things to do, shopping, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking and waterfall trails... Wineries with live music events and tastings. And a short 25 min drive to Helen for tubing or zip lining, local stables, or Murphy, NC for the Harrah's casino.

There are several excellent boat rental places in the area! We use Lake Chatuge Marine, Young Harris Water Sports, Boundary Waters... The fellas will help you out! All kinds of water toys too like jet skis, stand-up paddle boards, kayaks.

Hike or drive to the apex of Bell Mountain, which overlooks the lake below and provides picturesque mountain views. Go out the main road to the right and you will find the Shooting Creek Overlook which is breathtaking. Visit Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. Jackrabbit Mountain, Chatuge Dam, Clay County park and beach, Trailheads of the Appalachian Trail, which spans from Georgia to Maine, are less than 10 miles from this home.

Space

New dock! SECOND ONE DOWN FROM THE HOUSE! Great bass fishing in the summer. Bird watching and amazing views year round. Lake is too low for boats to park at dock October - April, however, the home is right around the corner from five different ramps so there are many easy nearby entry points if you bring your boat. Kayaks and SUPs are great year round! 2 Kayaks and 4 SUPS to use for your stay.

Upstairs has a master king size adjustable twin/twin bed so each side can be set to your personal preference. The master has an ensuite bathroom with standing shower. The second upstairs bedroom is an adjustable King Serta. Second upstairs bath has a luxurious deep soaking tub. Downstairs has 3rd bedroom with 5 twins - a twin over twin bunk with trundle, a daybed and a stand alone twin, next to the 3rd bathroom. Washer and dryer are in the garage.

Well equipped kitchen. Keurig and drip combo coffee maker. Cooking essentials. toaster, blender, InstaPot, air fryer….

Charcoal grill. Located in the backyard fenced in area, out the garage door to the backyard on left.

Notes

There’s grass under this area of the lake, so it’s great for bass fishing when the water is high because they like to hide in there. When the lake is low (colder months), it’s still pretty, all nice and green and the dock is on a tributary that feeds right into the lake, so there is some moving water year round, and always something to see. Lake is too low for boats to park at dock from October - April, however this home is right around the corner from Ledford Chapel Boat Ramp (which has a double boat ramp), Jackrabbit Mountain Recreation Area and Chatuge Dam so there are many easy nearby entry points if you bring your boat. Kayaks and SUPs are great year round! 2 Kayaks and 4 SUPS to use for your stay.

House Rules

Must be 25 years old to book.

All trash must be in bags.

When checking out...
1) Leave used towels in the tub or shower.
2) Used beds should be left unmade.
3) Adjust temp settings. AC to 78* in summer. HEAT to 60* in winter.
4) Put all trash in bags in can outside.
5) Remove any opened food items from the frig.
6) If you moved any furniture, inside or outside, put it back.
7) Turn off lights, ceiling fans, TV...
8) Make sure all doors are locked and key is returned where you got it.
