Executive Waterfront Cottage on prestigious Balsam Lake with beautiful sunsets, and includes a canoe and pedal boat.

The street side of the home has a circular driveway with plenty of parking. The lake side of the home has a door and a patio door that lead you to a very large cedar deck to enjoy the outside view. There is a propane BBQ with plenty of seating to enjoy your dinner outside.

The property is flat and has a patio stone deck at the water’s edge with a ladder to easily slip into the lake. The lake has a sandy bottom off the patio and is about 3 feet deep. There is lots of room on the patio to enjoy the sun, with an excellent westerly view for the beautiful sunsets!

There are 2 docks, a smaller one and a larger ‘L’ shaped dock that extends out into the water. There is a canoe and pedal boat so you can enjoy the water.

There is an outdoor fire pit by the water to roast marshmallows into the evening. An added bonus is that we do not get black flies!

Neighborhood:

Our cottage is on the northeast end of Chandos Lake near Winters Bay in a small bay with only six other cottages. The bay is relatively shallow so it is ideal for swimming, canoeing and other non-motorized activities, yet deep enough for full power boat access to the open part of the lake. The lake features three marinas and a public beach. The lake is in the shape of a reversed L, with three main bays: West Bay, connected to the main body of the lake by a long narrows; South Bay, extending southwest and separated by a curved peninsula; and Gilmour’s Bay, a smaller, two-lobed bay on the southern tip of the lake, connected by Gilmour’s Bay Narrows. The surface area of the lake is 1387 hectares.

There are many nearby natural areas that are accessed by hiking trails or by boat. For supplies and dining, the towns of Apsley and Coe Hill are within easy driving distance. For wider selection Bancroft (30 min) is an easy drive via County Road 620 and Highway 62.

Cottage water: filtered and UV protected lake water – tested as potable. There is also a water cooler for those that may want to bring their own standard water cooler jugs.
