The flat has a well furnished living room with a sofabed for 2, a spacious bedroom, a well-equipped kitchen and a nice bathroom. It is on the 2' floor (there is a lift). Piramide Metro is a 10min walk away and this takes you to all of the main sites!
The building in which my apartment is located is a classic example of popular 20th century roman architecture. You will notice the antique roman amphoras fixed onto the walls of the entrance. The flat has a well furnished living room with a sofa-bed, a very spacious bedroom, a full-equipped kitchen and a nice bathroom. It is on the 2nd floor of a building that has an elevator. The bus stop is in front of the main door and the metro station (Piramide) is a 10 minute walk away. From the metro you can easily reach the Colosseum, the Vatican or the Spanish Steps! My apartment is very comfortable and well-equipped. I am proud of the living room full of ethnic objects and books in several different languages. The sofa-bed is new and perfect to relax on. In the bedroom there is a large bed with a comfortable mattress and a big wardrobe for all of your clothes. The kitchen has everything you should need for cooking, please make the most of Italian ingredients and cooking whilst you are here! You will find sugar, coffee and tea at your arrival. The bathroom is small, but very well organised and has a large shower. There will be shampoo and soap here for you. There are large fans in the living room and bedroom, great for Rome temperatures in the summer time.
My entire apartment will be at your disposal.
Interaction with Guests
Hopefully I'll be available during your stay. If not, someone from the Hostmaker team will be there for you to guarantee a perfect stay. They are a lovely bunch that help me out while I am away.
Testaccio is one of the most famous popular areas of Rome. It is one of the Roman Hills (Monte Testaccio), and in Roman times this area was used for building amphoras. Nowadays it is famous for its typical restaurants (trattorie romane). It is a very popular spot in the evenings, full of bars and lovely places to go for dinner. The Testaccio Food Market has recently been renovated, now it is very popular with locals and tourists alike. Here you can buy typical Italian food - full of colour and flavour. Finally, the Tiber River is close to the building where you can take a relaxing stroll along the river.
The apartment is in a very good location and has great public transport links. There is the metro station (Piramide ? Metro B) which is a 10 minute walk away, and there are lots of bus stops just in front of the apartment (Via Marmorata). From Termini Station you can get to the apartment in 10 minutes by taking the metro (Metro B, direction Laurentina, 4 stops) or in about 35 minutes by taking the tram (n. 14, 4 stops + n.3, 10 stops). From Fiumicino Airport you can get a taxi and arrive in 35 minutes (45,00?) or you can go to Termini station by train (25 minutes, 14,00? per person) and then take the bus or the metro (read above). From Ciampino Airport you can get a taxi and arrive in 30 minutes (30,00?) or you can go to Termini station by bus (45 minutes, 6,00? per person) and then take the bus or the metro (read above). If you'd like to go to San Peter's Cathedral you just have to take the bus nr. 23 in front of the building, getting off at Traspontina/Conciliazione stop. For Spanish Steps you have to arrive first at Termini with Metro B, from Piramide, and there switch the metro lines, taking the Metro A (red line) for 3 stops, getting off at Piazza di Spagna Station. To see the Colosseum, you just have to take the Metro B (blue line) for 2 stops from Piramide, getting off at Colosseo Station.
Other Things to Note
At your arrival you will be greeted by me or by a friend of mine. We can speak English and we will be happy to explain how to use everything in the house and how to best enjoy the city.
My children and I spent a wonderful few days in Luca's apartment. It's comfortable and full of fascinating objects from Luca's travels. Testaccio is a brilliant part of town - really vibrant with good places to eat. It's also excellent for children - playpark, pizza and gelato within minutes. We also loved being so close to the centre of town and walking along the river past the William Kentridge murals. Thank you, Luca and Marius, for such a wonderful few days.
